A North American native wildflower with important medicinal properties. Blood purifier and said to increase resistance to infection. Spectacular red/purple daisy flowers and attractive cone shaped heads for decoration. Height of 1 metre.

Mid May to late July.
WHERE TO SOW
Sow in boxes or pots in cold frame or covered with glass or polythene.
WHEN TO TRANSPLANT
When seedlings are large enough to handle, prick off into pots and grow on until ready for planting out in September or October.
