Description
Invite some stars into your late spring garden that will put on a soft country-style performance in your late spring garden. Camassia leichtlinii ‘Blue Donau’ (or ‘Blue Danube’) will be singing country blues in an extended performance that can last into early summer if the applause is loud enough and the soil hasn’t dried too much. The 30-36 inch (75-90cm) plant produces long spikes covered with 20 to 80 dark lavender blue flowers. The star-shaped blooms of Camassia leichtlinii ‘Blue Donau’ open from the bottom of the raceme towards the top to prolong the show. These perennials love to perform in groups in beds, meadows and on slopes. They are also excellent cut flowers.
